The Book of Present serves as a guiding foundation to create a practice of self-care that can last as long as you desire. There are 20 individual exercises in the book. As a baseline, we recommend focusing on each exercise for one to three weeks. This means the book will take 3 to 6 months to complete for most individuals. By the end of this time, you will have created a practice for yourself that you can carry on indefinitely as a tool that adapts to your changing life circumstances.

The Book of Present is designed to help you increase awareness in every domain of your life experience. The depth of your desire to understand yourself and put what you discover into practice will define your results. While we cannot make any guarantees for individual cases, we have seen firsthand how self-understanding can catalyze impressive results for stress relief, pain relief, professional/work-life improvement, weight loss, and alleviation of depression and other psychological disorders.

At the least, a deeper knowing of yourself will serve to reframe your perspective on anything you currently perceive as a problem.

As far as set time, each exercise requires you to write a daily reflection in your Development Log. This reflection usually takes 15 to 30 minutes. However the goal of each exercise is to bring the ideas of the book into your daily practice of life. This means you'll be applying focus and attention as often as possible during your day to day activities. But don't worry about this taking attention away from other activities - In fact, you'll be focusing on your present moment activities more clearly than ever!
